Dear members of my family,
past and present members of my team, friends of the MWJ, MWJ
Council, my loyal Readers, Writers, Advertisers and Vendors,
It is with great sadness that I write my last publisher’s
letter to you. I am sad to report that the Maine Women’s
Journal will no longer be published in print or on the web. I
am not “dying in my winter” as I had mentioned in
my fall letter to you all, no on the contrary I am just making
the choice to stop, to rest, to heal.
I know in my heart and soul that this chapter, this season
is over. We poured our hearts into every issue. However, I as
the publisher wore many hats and each issue was a “Birthing
Process”. I am proud to have been able to accomplish so
much with the Maine Women’s Journal. We were a resource
for women who moved here or who lived here. We provided encouragement
and empowerment, we helped to be a catalyst to change the lives
of women and give them the courage to go forth and do it themselves.
The MWJ lifted women’s hopes and spirits. When I started
the MWJ I wanted to be the magazine that told the stories of
the women of Maine. I am very proud that we were able to accomplish
that simple mission.
To my husband Jeff and my children, thank you for loving me
and standing by me as it took time away from being with all of
you.
My readers, I will miss you and will keep all the friends of
the MWJ in my prayers. Thank you all for being such a special
part of my life I will treasure these memories forever. My dear
friend Dr. Lonise Bias who was in featured in the first issue
told me
2008 is the year for New Beginnings. I am moving forward,
and I thank you for having traveled with me on my journey with
the Maine Women’s Journal. I could not have done it with
out you.
Good-bye for now until our paths cross again.
Happy New Year!
God Bless you all
