The La Dee Da Party!
Performed at The Kennebunk Free Library
December 9th 4:30 pm
The La Dee Da Party
A holiday play in 2 acts by Danie Connolly
Who could have imagined the chaos a dozen free lobsters would
create for two hubby-hunting spinsters hell bent on throwing
a last minute holiday party (to showcase their homemaking skills
to ten “lucky bachelors”?)
Certainly not Herb Stump! This small town sad
sack is smitten by the love of his life; that one magnificent woman- Miss Lily. Unfortunately… the
feelings not mutual. Ever since ruining her last soiree, he hasn’t
quite been in her good graces. All that’s about to change when he
promises her a gift of seafood- 12 deluxe lobsters – just in time for the
Holiday festivities.
Reluctant at first, she soon conspires to redeem her
title as Queen of Prelude Parties and elevate the evening to
something even Martha Stewart would envy. With his old pal Wally riding shotgun and Miss
Biddy, her spinster co-conspirator by her side (and visions of more than sugarplums
dancing in their heads), Herb and Miss Lily set off on different paths, each
arriving with a new meaning to holiday nuts!
Performed by Jim Fitzgerald, Jeanne Sauve, Josef Reiter & Leslie
